Creative Director
Thom Sokoloski
What sets smartculture apart is Thom Sokoloski, an acclaimed multi-diciplinary artist, who has planned, curated and produced large-scale and site-specific public artworks and events for over 35 years. His perspective is on the whole effect; an authentic experience where the impact of art, people and form feels in-place rather than out-of-place.

He has produced international tours of theatre, opera and classical concerts, location management for independent films, organized large arts conferences, co-founded several arts organizations, as well as programming and curating art fairs and festivals to receiving numerous commissions to create large-scale public participatory art installations in Toronto, New York City, Ottawa and Queensland, Australia.

His ability to coordinate the many pieces of original and innovative large-scale artistic undertakings into public and critical successes is unparalleled. He has proven skills in budget creation and personnel management from projects of $25K to over $2M. He has gained the trust of production partners, co-producers, consulates, municipalities and community leaders in premiering ground-breaking public works, giving him an uncommon expertise in site-specific arts production.

Being an artist and curator he knows the national and international art scene and the artists and curators who are part of them, and how to get to the players behind the scene who can make it all happen.
